Three years ago I was playing with the young guys in Genk, but now I am making a transfer to Chelsea, it’s almost impossible, a real dream come true.
Fernando had a good movement to score earlier in the first half but the keeper saved as well, but Fernando is working hard every day in training and for sure the goal arrives soon. Fernando always has the goals and for sure for Chelsea he has to score a lot of goals.
I care about Chelsea, it is such a family club, all the old boys are always coming back - and that doesn’t happen everywhere.
Andre and I have developed not only a professional partnership but over the months a friendship which will last forever. We have a strong friendship that we will keep. I think that says it all. I am committed to Chelsea. There were some enquiries about me and I was flattered but I politely declined because I am very happy where I am and want to be successful with this group and this club.
I have great affection for the club, the fans and the city. I keep in touch with them all, because I love them all. I always cheer for the victories of Benfica and those who love the club.
As it stands I have this season and next season and I would love to extend that. As long as the club want me, I will be here. Whatever anyone says about me going anywhere else, I will be here, without a doubt.
The owner didn’t pay £15 million to get me out of Porto to then pay another fortune to get me out of Chelsea.
Liverpool’s fan have stuck with the story the club gave and they don’t know the real story.
Whenever I have had difficult times, I look at myself and say, ‘Yes, I can get back to my level.’ All that I need to do, above anything else, is to work. If you work and give everything and really want to do something, that is all you can be asked. If you do that and things do not work out, you have nothing to be ashamed of. But I am in debt to the Chelsea fans. They have always supported me. And I promise them the one thing I have never done and will never do in my life is give up.
The disrespect I’ve seen towards the likes of JT and others is ridiculous. When times get hard, these are the sort of players who step up to the plate. Ashley Cole, JT, Lamps, Didier - these are the players which keep the team going. They are the heart of the team.
Torres is the best striker in the Premier League when fit, he’s that good. I’ve followed him right from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea.
I believe that people enjoy dishing out criticism to Fernando. At least they used to, he’s looking better though, and will soon carry on scoring goals just like he always has.
